OMG! It's 9 meters here from the ground and he climb recklessly using just a rough ladder. If it were me, I wouldn't dare to! I would not give my life any chance to experience heaven. No! And this is how workers in Cambodia are! Perhaps, if I give him a safety guideline, he doesn't follow it. Shortly, this is a really dangerous occupation!

My buddy went to his sleeping state while the rain was heavy!
 
Last weekend, a strong raining stroke throughout Phnom Penh. However, one of my pals started to feel sleepy and he has got into his dream even though the class was on its way. Ha ha... This is what a strange thing!

Bathroom

My bathroom is under renouvellation

It's been 1 week since my kitchen and toilet has been under renouvellation. In this plan, the major blueprint is from my mom. The chimney and kitchen is now just debris. Furthermore, bathroom and toilet is now in repair mode whilst another bathroom will be being built ASAP. The entire kitchen also need a paint job soon and also the wall tiles. My mom choose only the best tiles which were made in Malaysia. That's not as much as Italian tiles but it seem great here. Beside, door is currently new. It's ideal for anyone to live upstair. From bathroom to bedroom, everything is ready upstair and this is to attract my sister's attention to keep her private teenage life above everyone in the family. I hope this keep her from disturbing me again when I'm sleep.
This is just a beginning; my floor tiles will completely be replaced as well. And in this case, Malay tiles will substitute my half-decade-tiles entirely. Surely, I need a tough job observing all guys that coming to my home. Briefly, this may last another week.
Finally, my veranda is about to change its appearance too. Since it's built outdoor, all workmen may need additional attention to make it shine again. I'll also getting everything under control too. Indeed, this project may worth 3 weeks for me and cost around US$2 500. Most workers here are Vietnamese and I can resist the fact that they have more productivity, skill and finess than those Cambodian laborer.

Finally, Farewell to my exam...

Exam was gone to rest. Vacance is replacing the pre-exam efforts. There are much more crazy stuffs to deal with after exam. One is a nasty task that need to finish instantly and the other is to plan a typical routine for the upcoming 2 months school-off. I just hope I can constantly survive those days.
Primarily, my bed is all messed with school 'debris' that need to washed off in a panic. Since June (30 days before), my bed was practically a bookshelf that filled everywhere with books and papers required for an astounding exam approaching fast. Some time, I need to find elsewhere to take a nap and to enjoy my sleeping (less than 7 hours a day). Bed, a favorite place of all time, was simply a shocking pile of sheets!

Moreover, due to a short period of holidays, plans for the vacance has to be set. Since, 2 months is keenly not enough for any guys who spend their entire effort in one year duration. I am also one of them. Basically, in a couple of months, my typical schedule is set to game and sleeping. Luckily, according to some ideas, some plans were also introduced for me to spend in August and September. Here are some of them:

Simultaneously, I may put on weight. Annually, I gain around 4kg. Anyway, this year, I am suppose to make a 10kg increased to my mass spontaneously and it will actually reach the superior limit of my BMI. However, it lasts only for 2 months a year.

Thus, with fulltime class on bed and leisure activities, August and September are the most and most favorite part of calendar every year. Everything are going to be pretty well and grease for this ultimate 2 months and everything is not gonna be forgotten.

Will I enjoy the vacance, and So do you...

European Union, I will meet!

There's a good news today!
The EU Missionaries are coming to my university on Friday, May 07. Their plan is to visit the students and listen for requests. Moreover, the whole students were given a full holiday that day. Anyway, 4 groups of students which equiped with strong french language background were chosen to stay that day.
However, that's a good thing! That day, I and my buddies represent the whole students in 3 faculties there to meet the EU Missionary. And, of course, it seem that we were forced to join due to our name list which currently submitted to the principal already. But, although, we are willing to; without hesitation. Meanwhile, I may still got some encouragement (some money) for us to go.
Those 4 groups (around 100 students) will sit and listen to EU and then, give comments, requests, raise problem in studying, economical and financial resources et cetera.
A posteriori, we may got more scholarship to EU as well as funds and studying materials to our university. If we won't have done well then our university won't have benefited from that occasion.
Indeed, this is really a fabulous chance for us as well as the whole university to get more from EU. I hope EU will give, not only Medical students but the whole Cambodian population to enrich all the best chance especially in education becoming the bien-faire people in the world. That's our prospective!

For all everyone, especially girl, you know that when you hang out with your friend or hundred of your friends far from home (i.e. Vacance), you have to make sure that you return back home safe. When you are planning your trip, you also make your plan. Stick to your plan and never stick with strangers. Hang out, back home all the way safe. No matter how you feel he's very safe, no matter how you believe he's gonna be okay, do NOT run into it. Frequently, thing is not as it seem to be, so you must aware all the critical situation and never start that situation where you will be with strangers. You will not notice untill you are pass out the next day and your mother end up crying as she cannot find your body back. The dangerous will always come while you are unnotice. So in short, never stick with strangers;whatever you feel. And make sure you will be back home safely and never let your mother cry for you.

A losing story

There was a girl who is very smart, went out in vacance to a place far from home with her classmates. On the last day there, she managed to hang out with her pals as the other hundred do. So she had to feel safe. But eventually, she met a guy, a true stranger at the club and she fell heavily drunken. That guy gave heq a ride home and she left her friends and got into the car. No more funny, the car never drive her back. Her friends feel very very worried about her and waited to see if she is back to the hotel the next day. But, unfortunately, she did not appear. Her mom got the news and rushed into a flight to where she was disappeared. She called the police and asked the investigators to help but soon abandoned the thrust after she knew that those officers are friends to the guy who last seen with her daughter. Her mother desperately find her everywhere as she could but nothing satisfy her efforts. She bitterly cried all her way to find her. But then, she noticed that her daughter had been raped, drugged and murdered. Initially, she pretended that she never lose her daughter. But a while later, she continued her quest. Unfortunately, the case is never solved and she never know who is responsible for this. She even cant find her daughter's body back.
She leaved out an important message: No matter how you feel safe, never get in the car with strangers.

Dare not to commence my love. Scare the beginning... Afraid of losing also... AGE matters!

I am now 18. Both physical and mental abilities are all matured. The natural needs started to appear. I can be on my own also. And seriously, I also dreamt of hanging out or dating with a girl as the other guys do. It sounds too much imagine, right? Of course, just probably because of my fond mental depression several years before. Back to my matter, I am strong and courageous enough to confess my love if I REALLY wanna get start. Unfortunately, I am afraid to start a love of my own. Almost gals that I know are really not at my age (or I don't know if they were). As told, I am 18, however, and on my third year at university so 99.99% of girls are not similar in age to me. By the way, I am also frightened by my old gf who make me hate more and more progressively. She also made me hurt. Thus, by these dangerous points, I am not really lucky to find a girl easily. It does take time! So, simply, I just wait and see if I can find one (if possible, soon).
P.S. If you really have a thought of age is no problem then it DOES matter to me! My girl is, at least, younger than me. (Anyway, I must allow for possibilities so everything may change). :-)

Incidence vs Prevalence

Ever wonder what is incidence or prevalence? You may hear those words elsewhere when statistic is announced.
Here is my brief explanation:
Incidence is the case which starts to occure.
Prevalence is the case which last longer time.
For examples, in AIDS, there is 3 new cases in january and 5 old case which is found in january. So we say that in January 3 incidences and 8 prevalences. But for acute disease such as Swine Flu, we always use incidence because this disease lasts not very long. For instance, in February, 6 cases of Swine Flu are found so we say that 6 new incidences in February. In short, if you hear later prevalences or incidence, you should be able to distinguish from them. But if you got any new questions, leave me some email.

Profs at University of Health Sciences usually disobey the time schedule regarding of their bucks on weekdays. So, in short, most stunes gotta go study at sat or on the break time which the break time is important to them since some of then study 2 univ or because it is already very busy for them on study time (6h a day at school) so they need it.

My medic' exam

Yesterday, the immunological exam seem to be very difficult. There were no writing question but the 40 multiple choices questions. All were too confusing, complicated. That was not easy!
There are just 2days to go untill my exam finished.

These are the samples of corruption. There are 30 microscopes but students know already what will it be in the microscope just right after they know their numbers. I got it from my friends am hour before the exam.

My first day at exam

Haven't told you all that I was on my first day at exam on 16 Feb. I cannot blog due to my poor internet connection.
The first subject to take place was the parasitology and bacteriology technical practicum but, however, there was also the writing exam of this practicum either.
Usually, technical practicum does not included writing. And, as usual, the practicum spends lot of my time until my turn as I am in the nearly-end alphabetically-ordered name list. So, I let myself very lazy untill the time comes up. I am late! On the schedule, exam started at 7h30. I came school at 7h40 but, luckily, the exam was delayed till 9AM. That was not fair because the schedule is somewhat to be respected but it is a blessing for me then.
The writing took 30 minutes for both subs with 24 questions. Those were easy for me as I took my effort on pre exam tasks many days before. So, in consequence, I finished it 10 minutes before time. This also happened to some of my pals.
Then the practicum started right after the writing exam but 507 persons left untill my turn to enter. I wanted to take some rest at home while the exam was in progress but I was not able to do that because of the unclearance of the exam. I was afraid that I may miss my turn so I decided to stay like many other students did.
Lunch at school was a real disaster. After exhausted day of waiting and tiredness, I decided to have lunch at school with one of my friend. The 'SÂMLÂK' soup and beef 'KHÔ' were much worse that I thinked. There was nothing to choose other than these. That was just to confuse my brain that I was also eat lunch. It was embedded in my memory till now.
My turn was at 2PM. I was waiting in the queue that just to watch all steps the previous did. Happily, I did everything right and returned home peacefully but together with tiredness.
Thus, the exam finished at 3PM. And there was no bacteriology exam due to lack of time. This exam was a real tired experience that I ever encountered during the exam days ever.

My exam

Today is my second day at exam: Histology Technical Practicum. It seem like to be so very easy to do because there are corruptions happen before and during the exam process. Almost students pay US$20 to an 'Extra course' conducted by the prof. It also happened last year. By the way, that course lasted as short as two sessions with a summary of 2 hours that leaved the students 53 Q&A and a bunch of schema papers. Can you imagine how much you can learn in 2 hours? Of course, this is not really a course. In the histology area, there are two categories, one is theory studies and the other is technical practicum. In theory studies, there are 4 teachers to teach. So in exam, there are questions from all the 4 prof. But for practicum, one prof ruled who also teachs theory. That is the one who commit corruption.
The histology technical practicum exam is consisted of peeping through the microscope and draw a schema of what it is on the lame.
All schemas were distributed exclusively to every students who pay extracourse. As the exam started, you can bring whatever you want into your room (but not so public). Then you would have told to draw a lotto that will tell you which microscope you have to peep through. After that, you will be in a new room with 30 microscopes but just to wait the previous students to finish their works. While you wait for your turn, you will be told which will you see in the microscope so you don't even need to give a second peeping the microscope. So why do you have to peep through the microscope in the class? But this is just the first stage.
Then, when your turn comes, you will have to draw a schema. But that is really easy since you have all the schemas that the prof gives. You just need to copy it. Or if you were very dump, you could bring out your papers and copy them to your work. Then 15 minutes countdown alarm will ring. It is enough long for you when you really give no effort on exam. You will have as much as 13 minutes free in the exam class if you got the easiest one. So I think nobody is gonna fail.
Honestly, I also pay for that. But, tragedically, 90% pay excepts for those who really cannot afford to but if they can, they will for sure.
Not just this year but every year. Although, this year is exceptionally very easy. Last year, you could not known what you would see in the microscope untill you sit in the chair looking trough it. But then, someone will come and take a look at your microscope and tell you what it is to draw as he knows that you pay.
In another case, the theory exam of that prof will be quite much easy since you got all the questions along with the answers to you. So what you need to do is to put your effort on the other 3 prof.
All in all, the corruptions happens everywhere in the education system in cambodia but, by the way, just a matter of how much. In University of Health Sciences, it seem that a really tiny amount of corruptions take place compared to other colleges. This corruption may not happen during the other exam days but corruption still existed anyway.

The Chinese Lunar New Year's Eve.

In chinese tradition, people prepare the foods and pray them to the gods one day before the new year day. As in legends, going out is prohibited for the member of the family. Every member will be together in the house and they need to clean the house as well as their bodies because, for the rest of the holiday, they are prohibited of cleaning, washing or even brushing their teeth.
For me, the legends is one part, but another part is it wants all family members to be together for even just only one day. It's enough happiness for the busiest families which barely eating lunch or dinner together. And for the cleaning quota, it may want the members to pay attention more on the relatives. Especially for the youngers that spend much time in front the mirrors, takes care the elder siblings who are even sick of home stressing.
In my family, there is a hybrid style of ritual. My mom prepares foods but no stricted limits! But that is even very negligence for my father's house. There is no food prepared nor even a suprise. The reason is probably from a scientics behaviors of the whole member that care nothing about that or even because this is the chinese tradition and not the native Khmer style one. But just bear in mind that my two grandfathers (maternal and paternal) are the native and native chinese-born. Although, my paterfamilias's siblings are ready of praying.
All in all, my family, at least, prepares foods for this holiday but not the case of my paternal side. For tomorrow, the city would be quite calmer but the province would be more dense because most of people will leave the capital to enjoy the holiday outside the crowds (but do they really get rid of the crowds whenever the crowds will be there also?). Okay, I will report thing that happens on the first day of holiday. Oops, tomorrow is also the Valentine's day. Thanks for reading.

Today is what we usually called "Double Holidays" due to its Chinese lunar new year and the Valentine's. It may be once-in-a-lifetime event that two annual holidays happen in the same day.
As in this occasion, I wish my dad and mom to live as long as possible with happiness around them everytime. I also wish them got whatever they wish for and get rid of every kind of illness. I wish them all the best wishes that the planet earth got.
I also wish my relatives to have a really successful lives and live together forever. May they be wealthy, richy, beautiful and gain respects all every where. I wish to those who visit my blog gaining happiness in their family as well as all the warmest loves for the relatives tree in their entire lives.
